Greenville Public Library hosting two summer art exhibitions

GREENVILLE—The Greenville Public Library currently hosts two art shows in its downstairs gallery, continuing through August 29.  

Hearth to Habitat is a solo show composed of paintings of dogs, cats, and their relatives in the wild:  foxes, wolves, bobcat, Siberian tiger and snow leopard.  The artist, Valerie White, is represented by Mountain Cat Studio in Cairo.

Also on view until August 30 is a group show by members of the Art Exchange, which meets on a monthly basis at the Cairo Public Library in Cairo.  Artists participating in the group show include Marge Henderson, Debra Steup, Lizbette Martinez, Suzenne Liszt, Susan Zann, Nicole Relyea, Lolly Chase and Mary Ann Bagnell.  The show includes quilted work, landscapes, animal portraits, and other subjects.

Ten percent of any works sold through the show benefits the Greenville Public Library. The shows are open during library hours:  Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays 9a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Fridays noon to 5 p.m.; and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon.
