RENSSELAERVILLE―More than 200 years after Washington Irving published his classic Hudson Valley folktale, the Headless Horseman rides again. This time he’s galloping toward the Helderberg Hilltowns.

R’ville Stage Creations is closing out its sixteenth community theatre season with a full weekend of performances of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

With a script adapted from Irving’s original 1820 text by regional playwright Kristoph Di Maria, the production blends ensemble storytelling, puppetry, dance, and 18th century Catskill Mountain folk tunes performed by live musicians. The family friendly production will be staged under a big tent on the grounds of Be Golden Farms in Rensselaerville.

There are three regular performances: Friday October 23 at 7 pm, Saturday October 24 at 7 pm, and Sunday October 25 at 2 pm. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy wood-fired pizzas from the farm restaurant and brave a pre-show Haunted Forest Walk complete with live scare actors.

Pay-what-you-can tickets are available for all shows, thanks to generous donations from community members and two grants awarded to the company for this production.

In addition, the company is opening its final dress rehearsal on Thursday, October 22 as a relaxed preview―intended especially for people with sensory sensitivities, developmental or learning differences, or anyone who might find a traditional live theatre performance challenging or intimidating.

Seating for the preview is limited to 25 patrons and reservations are required. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is recommended for all ages. For tickets visit R’ville Stage Creations website at www.rvillestage.org/the-legend-of-sleepy-hollow or call/ text 518-248-3261.
