GREENVILLE―After five years in Greenville, High School Principal Kristy Goergen is moving on.
Goergen was appointed Thursday night by the Cohoes City School District Board of Education as their high school principal.
“She looks forward to sending off one final graduating class of Spartans before she begins her new role on July 1,” said Todd Hilgendorff, GCS interim superintendent.
Goergen has spent nearly a decade as an administrator. She previously held the position of assistant principal at Draper Middle School in the Mohonaosen Central School District for five years and has been Greenville’s high school principal since 2021.
The Cohoes City School District in Albany County serves approximately 1,985 students with a high school enrollment of around 610.
“We wish Mrs. Goergen the best of luck and thank her for her dedication to our students over the past five years. We will share more information about our plan to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition in a future communication,” said Hilgendorff.
