
RHINEBECK―A Catskill man is one of three people charged with felony gang assault following a brawl at the Dutchess County Fair.
It happened around 8:47 p.m. on August 29 at the fairgrounds’ midway where State Police were called to a fight in progress.
According to troopers, they found a 29-year-old man bleeding from the face with significant swelling to his left eye.
State Police say their investigation determined that, while the victim was waiting to board a ride, he was assaulted by three other men: Ryan A. Depew, 32, of Catskill; Lloyd D. Depew, 31, of Kingston; and Dennis J. Appollonia, 36, of Kingston.
The victim sustained serious physical injuries and he was transported to Kingston Health Alliance Hospital, according to State Police.
All three men are charged with second-degree gang assault, a class C felony, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
Appollonia was arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center in lieu of bail. Ryan Depew and Lloyd Depew were released under probation supervision.
