
CATSKILL―The Catskill High School recently announced the Class of 2026’s highest ranking students based on weighted grade point averages.
Valedictorian Rylin Quinn
Rylin Quinn, son of Heath and Tammy Quinn, will be attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute this fall. He will be majoring in mechanical engineering and is a recipient of the Rensselaer Medal Scholarship.
Salutatorian Trevor Duong
Trevor Duong, whose parents are Trang Le and Thang Duong, plans to attend the University at Buffalo where he will major in computer engineering. His senior year he went to the New Visions STEM program at RPI. He has played on the volleyball team, which was the Section 2 Class C Champions. Trevor is also part of the National Honor Society and Yearbook Club.
#3 Nicholas Maccaline
Nicholas Maccaline, son of Nicole Maccaline and Jim Maccaline of Catskill, plans to attend the University at Buffalo next year where he will be majoring in mathematics. While in high school, Nicholas was a part of the National Honor Society and a member of the high school band.
#4 Kylie Beers
Kylie Beers is the daughter of Jill Beers and Todd Iten and will be attending Siena University in the fall for psychology. In her sophomore year she attended Questar III’s Construction Tech program to learn real-life skills before entering the real world. Kylie is also the president of Catskill’s National Honor Society chapter where she was able to help her community. In her spare time, Kylie enjoys doing various activities with her friends and hanging out with her animals.
#5 Tegan Morehead
Tegan Morehead, daughter of Aysa and Ron Morehead and sibling of Willow Morehead of Cairo, plans to attend Bard College next year where they will major in Film. While in high school, Tegan participated in Odyssey Of The Mind, Reading Buddies, and was accepted into the New Visions Visual And Performing Arts program. Along with that, they were a frequent performer in the Empowered Body Vocal Showcase, and worked for two live productions on Bannerman Island.
#6 Sophia Hong
Sophia Hong, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hong, plans to attend the University at Albany next year where she will major in accounting. While in high school, Sophia participated in the National Honor Society, Yearbook Club and took part in the girls volleyball team for two years. She was also a semi-enrolled student through Columbia Greene Community College where she was a part of the New Visions BFM Class of 2026. She has also worked part time at her family’s Chinese restaurant, Great Wall.
#7 Collin Shook
Collin Shook, son of John Shook and Ellen Shook of Catskill, plans to attend Coastal Carolina University next year where he will major in recreation and sports management. While in high school, he was a part of the Catskill Business Club and the National Honor Society. He was also involved in sports in the school, including varsity basketball and varsity soccer.
#8 Forever Welch
Forever Welch, while in high school, took college classes and went to trade school for a year and occasionally participated in school activities like Spirit Day. All of her family have previously attended Catskill for school and have ended up doing great things in their lives. She hopes to work for a little bit and then go to college for phlebotomy as her career.
#9 Callie Rose
Callie Rose, daughter of Amy and Michael Rose, will be attending Ithaca College in the fall to major in occupational therapy. Throughout high school, she has participated in varsity soccer and National Honor Society. She has taken part in the blood drives and Santa’s Helpers. She has also held an after-school job, working at Price Chopper.
#10 Gabriella Clearwater-Ross
Gabriella Clearwater-Ross' time at Catskill consisted of participation in Chorus and Treblairs during her freshman and sophomore years. She also took part in the fundraiser “Santa’s Helpers” to raise money for families in need. Her day starts by going to the University of Albany Health Science Campus for a New Visions program. The program is called Scientific Research and World Health and she recently completed her Capstone Research Project. After high school she is going to the University of Rhode Island as a Doctor of Pharmacy major. She is so excited for what her future holds and she is incredibly grateful for the people who have supported her these past four years.
