CATSKILL―A Connecticut man is behind bars after police say he broke into three Greene County businesses.

Troy P. Stone, 41, of Ansonia, CT was arrested by State Police on June 18 in connection with burglaries at Gracie's Luncheonette and Camptown in Leeds and Selena's Diner in Haines Falls.

The investigation began on January 17, at approximately 1:16 a.m., when troopers from State Police Catskill responded to a commercial burglary alarm at Gracie's Luncheonette on County Route 23B. The investigation determined that Stone had unlawfully entered the business but fled shortly after the alarm was activated, troopers said.

At approximately 9 a.m. that same day, troopers received a report of a burglary at Selena's Diner that had occurred at approximately 11:02 p.m. the previous night. The investigation revealed that Stone unlawfully entered the business and stole approximately $400 in cash.

Troopers also received a report of a burglary at Camptown, just down the road from Gracie’s, which occurred during the early morning hours of January 17. Investigators determined that Stone unlawfully entered the business and stole approximately $1,645 in cash, troopers reported.

Following a lengthy investigation, members of the State Police BCI in Catskill located Stone in April after he had been arrested in Massachusetts on unrelated charges. On June 18, Stone was formally extradited to Greene County on a felony warrant from the state of Rhode Island.

He is charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, a class D felony; fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony; and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Stone was arraigned in Catskill Town Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail.
