GREENE COUNTY―Porcupine Soup Media is excited to announce a newly redesigned website, marking the first significant revamp since its launch more than five years ago.

The site, now at porcupinesoupnews.com, is an updated platform aimed at providing a more reader-friendly experience, particularly for those using a mobile device.

In addition to a fresh layout, the site offers an improved search and sort feature, modernized events calendar and the ability to easily print articles, among other improvements.

What has not changed is Porcupine Soup's commitment to providing community-based local news in and around Greene County. Access to everything on the site will remain free.

"This update was a long time coming," said Andrea Macko, co-owner and publisher of Porcupine Soup Media.

"The previous web host met our needs when we first started Porcupine Soup in November of 2020, but we outgrew the host’s capabilities," Macko added.

In five years, Porcupine Soup's average monthly page views increased from around 25,000 to more than 272,800, totaling 3,282,712 in 2025.

“Porcupine Soup has always been about meeting the needs of our community and business clients. With the revamp of the site, we will only be improving the customer experience as well as helping our business clients achieve their marketing goals," said Sylvia Hasenkopf, co-owner and business manager of Porcupine Soup.

“We appreciate the patience of our readers over the last week as we transitioned to the new site. While it was a tireless endeavor to ensure everything is seamless, we would be interested in feedback should you discover any initial functionality issues,” Hasenkopf added.

The new site is the result of months of planning and development that was spearheaded by Magee Digital.

"Lucas from Magee Digital is a Greene County native. He did a phenomenal job of listening to our goals and challenges and happily accommodating our change requests," Macko said. "He built the new site from the bottom up and we couldn't be happier."

Over the coming months, Porcupine Soup staff will be uploading thousands of previous articles into the new site. In the meantime, content published prior to January 1, 2026, can be found through porcupinesoup.com.

As always, any questions or feedback can be sent to news@porcupinesoup.com.
