




CATSKILL―Two local residents were flown to Albany Medical Center on Monday night after their motorcycle was struck by a car.
It happened around 9:16 p.m. in the area of 5450 State Route 32 in Catskill, near the old Carson City theme park.
According to State Police, a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling north when a southbound 2004 Toyota sedan attempted to make a left turn into a driveway. The motorcycle collided with the car, ejecting both riders, troopers said.
The driver of the Harley Davidson was identified was 64-year-old Ronald M. Edwards of Durham and his passenger as a 40-year-old female from Catskill.
Both sustained life-threatening injuries and transported by two separate LifeNet helicopters, troopers said.
The driver of the Toyota, 20-year-old Kaitlyn M. Holley of Alfred, NY, was not injured.
The investigation remains ongoing and State Police said more information will be released as it becomes available.
In addition to State Police, responding agencies included the Greene County Sheriff's Office, Cairo Police Department, Greene County Paramedics, Kiskatom and Palenville fire departments, and ambulances from Catskill, Cairo and Durham.
