CATSKILL―Local nonprofit organizations gathered at Bank of Greene County’s Catskill Commons branch to receive funding from Bank of Greene County Charitable Foundation, supporting projects that strengthen and enrich communities throughout Greene County and the surrounding region.

As part of this year’s giving efforts, the Foundation is awarding $534,000 to 532 nonprofit organizations, providing critical support to programs that address a wide range of local needs.

Funded projects in the Catskill area highlight a strong focus on youth development, community engagement, and recreation. Highlights include support for afterschool and educational programming, the Summer Rec program, youth sports and outdoor recreation opportunities, and initiatives that encourage environmental stewardship and community involvement.

Additional funding is helping expand food access through community food distribution programs, emergency food pantries, and backpack programs serving students experiencing food insecurity, in addition to supporting arts and cultural initiatives including exhibitions, concerts, and theatrical performances, and improvements to local parks and recreational facilities. Investments also strengthen public safety through the purchase of firefighting and emergency response equipment, while supporting housing assistance programs, community health initiatives, and quality-of-life improvements throughout the region. A full listing of funded organizations can be found on the Bank’s website at www.tbogc.com/about/giving.

“We’re proud to support organizations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of local families and residents,” said Matt Ellis, Catskill Commons branch manager.  “From youth programs and recreation opportunities to food assistance and community events, these initiatives help strengthen the Catskill community in countless ways.”

“These projects reflect both the diversity of needs and the strength of community partnerships throughout the area,” added Donald Gibson, president and CEO of Bank of Greene County.  “We are proud to support organizations that provide essential services, expand opportunities for young people, and enhance the quality of life for residents throughout the Catskill area and beyond.”

Since its founding in 1998, Bank of Greene County Charitable Foundation has donated over $4 million to local nonprofit organizations throughout the region.  These contributions support a wide variety of initiatives across education, health and wellness, social and civic services, the arts, and affordable housing.

Bank of Greene County and its Charitable Foundation will continue to dedicate time and resources to organizations that enhance the quality of life throughout the greater Hudson Valley and Capital Region.  Grant applications are accepted annually between December 1 and January 15.  More information is available at www.tbogc.com.
