In Flight announces Cornhole for a Cause community festival

CATSKILL —In Flight, Inc. is proud to announce the return of its 5th Annual Cornhole for a Cause, presented by Hudson Regional LTC Pharmacy, on Saturday, September 26 at Dutchman’s Landing Park in Catskill.

Now in its fifth year, this free event has become a full community festival, drawing hundreds of families, friends, and supporters for a day of fun while raising essential funds to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the Hudson Valley.

This year’s celebration is surrounded in magic as the community is invited to step into a world of wizardry. With walkabout magician Sean Doolan, enchanting wares from local vendors, food trucks with their very own potions, and more spellbinding activities, every aspect is tailored to transport you into a world of magic. Closing out the evening with a dazzling, sensory-friendly drone show featuring magical characters above the Hudson River, the show promises to be an unforgettable finale for guests of all ages and abilities.

“Cornhole for a Cause has grown far beyond what we ever imagined when we created it in 2021. What started as a small fundraising tournament has become a free community festival that brings hundreds of people together for a day of fun, inclusion and connection.,” said Jill Rodriquez, In Flight’s director of philanthropy and external affairs.

“While the event is designed to be an incredible experience for the entire community, at its heart is our mission and purpose to raise critical funds that support local individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are incredibly grateful to the businesses, sponsors, volunteers and community members who have helped us grow this event and make it possible,” Rodriquez said.

Additional activities include a pay-to-play cornhole tournament, live music by Big Empty, face painting, a magical appearance by the Witches Along the Hudson, live chainsaw cutting demonstrations by the Catskill Carver, and photobooth by Test Tone AV. Silent auction, raffles and a 50/50 drawing will also be held throughout the day, giving guests plenty of chances to win prizes while supporting a meaningful cause.

Funds raised support In Flight’s mission to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities reach their highest level of independence through residential services, job training, day habilitation, and community integration programs across Greene, Columbia, Ulster, and Dutchess counties.
