GREENE COUNTY―Greene County Transit is temporarily suspending one of its routes due to a shortage of drivers with The Arc of Ulster-Greene that operates the system.

Effective March 23, the following Green County Transit route adjustments went into effect:

700/701 will be temporarily suspended.

This route covers the Catskill, Jefferson Heights, Leeds, Cairo, Coxsackie and Athens areas.

Alternative Routes Available: 702, 706 and possibly 705.

702 covers Catskill, Kiskatom and Cairo areas.

706 covers Catskill, Earlton, Greenville, Durham, Oak Hill, Acra, Cairo and Leeds.

705 covers all areas based on appointment availability.

Anyone with questions or concerns should contact 518-943-3625.

Greene County Transit Riders are also encouraged to participate in the March 2026 Transit Study that is being conducted by the Greene County Transportation Advisory Board.

The feedback provided by the riders will contribute to our Greene County Human Services Coordinated Transportation Plan, better optimize the Greene County Transit System, encourage other providers for transportation gaps, and ensure it is operating within the needs of the community it serves.

Each route is $3, one-way, that includes a free daily shuttle pass. The shuttle is $2 for the entire day. Children, 5 and under, are free. Seniors (60 and over) are eligible for their fare to be fully subsidized by contacting the Greene County Department of Human Services at 518-719-3555.
