HAINES FALLS―The Mountain Top Historical Society is pleased to host a Family Fun Day, an afternoon of games and live music at the historic 1913 Ulster & Delaware Train Station in Haines Falls on July 25 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Catskill Mountain String Band will play their timeless blend of bluegrass and old-time music with a dash of classic country tunes.
Catskill Mountain String Band formed in December of 2021 when a few longtime friends would come together weekly to play bluegrass and fiddle music for fun. Inspired by early bluegrass, the band’s music evokes the spirit of its namesake, where mountain ridges, rushing streams, and dark hollows are wound with the sounds of Appalachian roots.
Whether they’re playing heart-wrenching ballads or upbeat barn burners, Catskill Mountain String Band connects with audiences through passionate performances and an honest, timeless sound that blends elements of bluegrass, old-time fiddle music and a dash of classic country.
Their motto "Good Friends, Great Music!" captures the spirit of their performances, which feel like a gathering of old friends sharing a night of fun and music.
Families are invited to bring a blanket, lawn chairs and favorite snacks and settle in for a relaxing afternoon in this historic Catskill Mountain setting. The program is free.
