CATSKILL—Bridge Street Theatre will present “Cindy of Arc,” a comedy and rock music event written and performed by Cynthia Kaplan, for two performances only on Saturday, May 16 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 17 at 2 p.m.

Part concert, part solo comedy, and part cultural critique, “Cindy of Arc” explores the problem of lying—particularly by men—and its impact on contemporary life. Featuring original songs performed with a live band, Kaplan guides audiences through an irreverent and fast-moving look at politics, religion, and cultural history.

The production has received strong critical response across multiple runs:

“Brilliant and blistering.” - NWTheatre

“A laugh-out-loud event.” - Maryland Theatre Guide

“Kaplan rocks with her music, identity and searing wit.” - DelcoCultureVultures

“You’ll laugh until you can’t breathe.” - Time Out New York

“Cindy of Arc” was a finalist for the 2023 Richard Rodgers Award for Musical Theater and has been presented at venues including Seattle’s Intiman Theatre, Baltimore Theatre Project, the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, Dixon Place, and the Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York City. The production has also raised more than $11,000 for women’s reproductive rights.

Kaplan is joined by musicians Dan Barman and Zachary Larson and directed by Dani Davis, an Emmy Award-winning writer and Tony-nominated producer.

Performances take place at Bridge Street Theatre, 44 West Bridge Street in Catskill. Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for students.
