Thomas R. Yannone, 78, of Catskill passed away on May 1, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Born in Catskill to the late Albert and Charlotte Yannone, Thomas was a proud lifelong member of his community.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969.
Thomas dedicated 32 years of his career to the New York State Comptroller’s Office, where he worked as an auditor. He was a lifetime member of the Catskill Elks Lodge #1341 and a member of the Silver Lining Senior Group of Catskill, maintaining strong ties to the community he loved.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing, visiting casinos, and like any devoted grandfather, cherished the many trips he took to Disney with his family. His grandchildren were the center of his world. He attended all their sporting events and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.
Survived by his beloved wife of 54 years Linda A. Yannone; daughter Jodie (John) Menelaos; grandchildren Kylie and Lucas Menelaos; sister-in-law Cathy Jessup; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Tom is predeceased by his parents and siblings Doris (Lionel) Alex, Joan (John) Surrano, Albert Yannone Jr., John Yannone, and Janet (William) Burnsed.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, May 8 at 12 p.m. in Town of Catskill Cemetery, 27 North Jefferson Ave, East Side Veterans Section.
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Greene County Veterans Service Agency, 300 Route 23B, Leeds NY 12451.
