Thomas Kardash, 75, of Greenport, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026, in Albany, NY.

Born June 30, 1950, in Hudson, NY, he is the son of Joseph and Dolores (Swayne) Kardsah.

Tommy lived his entire life in Hudson. He was a graduate of Hudson High School and continued his education, graduating from the Culinary Institute of America. His distinguished career for 54 years was chef at Kozel’s Restaurant in Ghent.

Tommy was also chef at Camphill Village in Ghent, where he was adored by all.

Tommy enjoyed music, especially Friday Concerts at Greenport Park. The simple things in life was what Tommy cherished, but nothing gave him more joy than spending time with his family.

He will be forever loved and remembered by his sister Sharon (Kardash) Zempko, niece Marcy (Jay) Wolfe, nephews Darrin and Scott Zempko, along with great nieces and nephews Ella, Hannah, Natalie and Dylan. In addition to his parents, Tommy was predeceased by his brother in law Alvin Zempko.

Funeral services and interment in Cedar Park Cemetery will be private.
