Thelma “Cathy” Jeune, 82, of Cairo, NY, passed away on June 20, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 30, 1943, to the late Sherwood and Margaret Simpkins. Cathy and Lyle married on July 20, 1963.

Cathy worked at the Catskill Game Farm where she met her husband, Lyle. She then worked at JJ Newberry’s Department Store, and Jeff Barrett Accounting where she retired from.

Cathy loved to read as much as she could on her Kindle. She always put everyone ahead of herself including her cat, Gabby.

Cathy is survived by her beloved daughter Margaret “Marlo” (John) Parker of Cairo; grandsons Joshua J. Donahue, Seth E. Parker, and Ryan Skaar; goddaughter Maria Moccio Badia; brother-in-law James (Judy) Jeune; cousins Ann and Frank Corrado; best friends Melinda (Sean) Tokle, Chuck Donahue, Lisa Skaar; beloved friends from the Cairo United Methodist Church; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lyle Jeune.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 9 at 11 a.m. in the Town of Catskill Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Breanna Lennon DelVecchio of Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Heights, Catskill.
