Sheryl “Sherry” Konsul, 72, of Coxsackie passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, surrounded by loving family.
She was born in Catskill on September 19, 1953, to Bernice and Orrin Kinch.
Sheryl grew up in Athens and married her high school sweetheart Robert Konsul.
She enjoyed helping with rummage and bake sales at her church. She formed many fantastic friendships there.
Sheryl was the type of person that thought of herself last and gave everything that she could to those in need.
Sheryl was brought into this world to be a mom. She was not only the best mom to her three children but a fantastic mom to any child, young or old. She made sure that children felt loved and safe. She taught her children and the friends of her children how to grow into intelligent, thoughtful, respectful, hardworking, compassionate and empathetic adults.
Sheryl’s (aka Grammy’s) pride and joy were her two grandsons, Ethan and Robbie. She had no greater love than the love that she had for them. Her world revolved around both boys. She always did everything that she could to make them both feel special.
Sheryl is survived by her three children: Michele Lenzo (Eddie Lenzo), Coleen Newson (Lee Newson), and Robert Konsul, Jr. (Mary Pampris); her grandsons Ethan Lenzo and Robbie Konsul, along with countless other non-biological children that she played a motherly role to. She is survived by her brother Keith Kinch; sisters: Linda Houghtaling, Bonnie Smith (Tommy Smith), and Vickie Fischer; and many nieces and nephews who she adored.
Sheryl was predeceased by her mother Bernice Kinch, her father Orrin Kinch, her sister Sandra Profera and her husband Robert Konsul.
A celebration of life will be held at W.C. Brady’s and Sons in Coxsackie on Tuesday September 15, 2026, from 4-6 p.m.
