Robert C. Rhinehart, 94 of Brooks Lane, Catskill passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

He was born in Hudson, a son of the late Charles Jesse and Alma Dean Rhinehart. Robert grew up in Athens, NY and graduated from Coxsackie-Athens High School. He enlisted in the US Army during the Korean War in 1951 and was Honorably Discharged in 1954.

For over 30 years Robert worked for the US Postal Service. He then worked as a bus driver for Lezette Express, Saugerties, for 20 years. He retired at age 80.

Over the years Robert was well-known as a baseball coach from T-Ball to American Legion Baseball. He was an avid Mets fan!

His beloved wife, Marilyn Joan Ruckh Rhinehart died October 10, 2022.

Loving father of James Rhinehart (Julie) of Texas, Barbara Sanson (Peter) of Catskill, Kim Rhinehart-Rizzi (Gino) of Catskill; grandfather of Amy, Jesse, Kyle, and Joel Sanson, and John Schoettler; great grandfather of Andrew and Isaac Davis, Brody and Piper Haggerty, Tristan and Clementine Sanson; uncle of Karen Weiss (and the late Ken Weiss) and Keith Ruckh (June); and cousin of Joan Stanley.

The Rhinehart family wishes to thank the caring staff at both The Pines at Catskill and Community Hospice and to his caregivers, Cathy, Lori, and Michelline.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Hgts., Catskill. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in the Town of Catskill Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion and US Army.
