Richard S. Chiulli of Catskill, NY passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at the age of 85.

He was born on April 13, 1940, to Alphonse and Lillian Chiulli in Yonkers, NY. After graduating from Cardinal Hayes High School in 1958, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion. After leaving the Marine Corps in 1962, he worked as a collection agent for Budget Finance and credit manager for WT Grant's department store.

Richard started his decades-long career as a NYS Corrections Officer in 1970, working at Bedford Hills, Coxsackie, Attica, and Hudson Correctional Facilities.

He married Gail McIntyre in 1964 and together they shared 61 wonderful years and raised two sons, Michael and Robert. Richard enjoyed vegetable gardening, horseshoes, taking care of numerous stray cats and squirrels, and hosting the Chiulli Memorial Day barbecues.

He was known for his sense of humor, love of family and friends, and strong sense of honor and duty.

He is survived by his wife, Gail; their children Michael (Nan) and Robert; two grandchildren, Raymond and Xander; and his brother Kenneth (Maria).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Lillian, his sister Anita, and his brother Donald.

Visitation will be held at Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Heights, Catskill, NY on Wednesday, February 25 from 4-6 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Patrick's Church, 24 N. Washington St., Athens, NY at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 26.
