Matthew “Matt” Supina, 68, of Warsaw, New York, passed away peacefully at home on May 30, 2026.

Born on October 15, 1957, in Coxsackie, New York, Matt lived a life defined by dedication, service, and an unshakable love for his family.

Matt devoted 25 years to a career as a corrections officer, serving at multiple facilities including Groveland and Attica Correctional. Beyond his professional life, he gave generously of his time to the Boy Scouts of America for 15 years, helping to shape the lives of countless young people.

Those who knew Matt would describe him as a man of many passions. Whether he was out on the golf course, exploring the world of science fiction, enjoying a great film, crafting something memorable in the kitchen, or embarking on his next travel adventure. But above all else, his family was his greatest joy.

Matt is survived by his brother, Mark Supina (Charlene); his sisters, Joanne Rakin (Dennis) and Cathy Sherrick (William); his stepson, Cameron Shearing (Amy), and their children, Nova and Joslyn; his stepdaughter, Samantha Shearing; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Trista Muth, Tracy Rakin, Sara Rynders, Dennis Rakin, Lori Quail, James Sherrick, David Sherrick and Agustin Mayorga.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Supina (Divis); his father, Edward Supina; and his sister, Sandra Delaney.

Matt will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth, humor, and spirit will live on in the hearts of those he loved.

In keeping with Matt’s spirit, a small, private service will be held for close family. The family kindly asks that this intimate gathering be respected as they come together to celebrate his life and begin to heal.
