Maryanne Edwards, age 81, passed away on January 11, 2026, at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her family.

She was born on October 27, 1944, in Jamaica, Queens, NY and spent her life deeply rooted in New York.

Maryanne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard Joseph Edwards and her second husband William Caswell.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth Sandberg, John Sandberg, Michael Sandberg and Robin Edwards; her grandchildren, Angelica, Melinda, Trudy, Michael, Violet, James, Lucy, Hunter and Sawyer; and 14 great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy and pride.

Maryanne worked for New York State for many years. Family was the center of her world. She loved staying active, cooking, gardening, and had a love for German Shepards. She especially enjoyed traveling on cruises and knitting heartfelt items for her grandchildren, each stitch a reflection of her love.

Known for her fiery and spirited personality, Maryanne had away of lighting up any room she entered. Her laughter, strength, and passion for life made her the heart of every gathering, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services and visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12p.m. at Saint Mary's Catholic Church on Mansion Street in Coxsackie, NY on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. A celebration of Maryanne's life will be celebrated at the church at noon, immediately following the visitation. Interment will take place in Town of Catskill Cemetery, Catskill.

Maryanne's legacy lives on through her family whose lives she enriched with her love, warmth and unforgettable spirit.
