Mary Jane (Pilatich) Hough, 91 of Catskill, NY, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, at Bright Hope Personal Care Home in Georgia, where she had been a resident.

She was born in Alsen, N.Y. on January 24, 1935, the beloved daughter of her late parents Joseph Pilatich Sr. and Anna (Hajec) Pilatich.

Mary worked for the State Office of the State Comptroller for 25 years where she was the first woman to obtain the Lifetime Career Achievement Award for Excellence.

Mary is survived by four children, John Hough Jr. of SC, Patrick Hough of GA, Kevin Hough of SC, JoAnn Mizell of IN: and siblings, Mildred Dagner, Katherine Dimler, Josephine Balfe, Stephen Pilatich along with many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Predeceased birth son: Michael Hough. Her predeceased siblings: Jane Pilatich, John Pilatich, Louis Pilatich, Anthony Pilatich, Helen Askew, Joseph Pilatich Jr., Carol Weidemann.

A graveside service will be conducted at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 131 No. Jefferson Ave., Catskill, on Monday, April 6 at 11 a.m.
