Miss Marianne Helen Thompson. She will always be remembered as a woman with a kind heart and a wild spirit.

She was born on September 26, 1963, in Rockland, Maine. She moved around frequently with her family and grew up all along the coast, living in many different beautiful places, even a couple of lighthouses! This is symbolic because wherever she went, she was a light that drew everyone to her.

Her friendliness and ability to talk to people was extraordinary. Everywhere she went, she made lifelong friends who are not soon to forget her fun personality and wiseass remarks. Not only was she the life of the party, but she was a hard worker whose work ethic was unmatched. Working tirelessly to keep her family afloat, she wore many hats, including but not limited to waitress, dental tech, substitute school teacher, delivery driver, saleswoman, and entrepreneur.

It was her ambition that drove her to move to Upstate New York, where she opened two different businesses. When she wasn’t working, she loved to spend time tending to her beautiful gardens, sunbathing, reigning over the blackjack tables and baking delicious cookies for her family.

Marianne left her earthly struggles behind on May 10, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was predeceased in death by her mother, Patricia Ruth Adams; her father, Stanley Harold Metcalf; her brothers-in-law, Jerome “Jay” Damren and Timothy Scully; as well as her father-in-law, Edward Leo Scully and her beloved horse, Sunday.

She is survived by her lifelong partner and best friend Edward Scully, as well as all her treasured children Benjamin Green (Christina Fiero), Skyler Scully, Danielle Scully (Eddie Moore), Camille Scully (Glenn Mastmann), Hunter Scully, Olivia Scully, Madeline Scully, Isabel Scully, and bonus daughter Alexis Clemons. She is also survived by her growing horde of grandchildren, a perfect dozen for the time being; and her brothers John Metcalf (Ann), Richard Metcalf (Deborah), and Stanley Metcalf (Carol); her sisters-in-law Pamela Scully (Sam), Cheryl Damren, Patricia Scully, and Karen Banitch (Paul); her mother-in-law Joan Scully; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Marianne’s warm hugs, tickles, and infectious smile will be forever missed. Her legacy and her countless wild stories will always live on in the hearts of all her friends and family.

Friends and family will be gathering at 1388 Flint Mine Road, Coxsackie, NY 12051 on Saturday May 30 at 6:30 p.m. for a celebration of Marianne’s life.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the W.C. Brady’s Funeral Home.
