Louise Blowers, 108 years young, a long-time resident of Cairo, passed away on March 1, 2026.

Born February 6, 1918, in Huntington, NY the daughter of Emil and Ella Hoffman.

Louise worked for the South Huntington School District, where she made history as the district’s first female bus driver. She later transferred to Walt Whitman High School, where she continued her dedicated service and retired as the high school matron.

She was a proud member of Catskill Elks Lodge #1341 and VFW Post #770. During her retirement years, she enjoyed traveling with her companion, Vito, and had the opportunity to visit all 50 United States.

Louise is predeceased by her husband Arthur; daughter Marilyn Bittleman; sons-in-law Harold Bittleman, John Knolle, and Barry Arp; brother Frederick Hoffman; grandson Jason Arp; and her longtime companion Vito Venezia.

Survived by her daughters Emma (Paul) Amoreisky, Sandra Knolle, and Louann Arp; grandchildren Kelli (Paul) Parezo, Deborah (Joseph) Mendiola, Nicholas Amoreisky, Justin (Maria D’Errico) Arp, Joshua Arp, and Dana Brown; 5 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; the entire Venezia Family; and good friend Robert Leanza.

To honor Louise’s wishes, a private viewing for family will be held. She will be laid to rest in the Cairo Cemetery.
