John P. Pulice, 81, of Athens passed away on July 23, 2026.
Born in Athens on June 22, 1945, to the late Joseph and Josephine Apa Pulice. The last of 11 children, he attended Athens Elementary School, then graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in Catskill.
He started his working career at Atlantic Cement Co. in Ravena, then began his many years with UPS. He dedicated 35 years of service as a UPS truck driver, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and friendly personality. John spent much of his retirement years devoting energy for the benefit of St. Patrick’s RC Church in his hometown of Athens.
He is predeceased by his parents as well as his siblings Frank Pulice, Michael Pulice, Rose Pulice, Mary (Pulice) Rivituso, Jeanette (Pulice) Fusco, Gilda (Pulice) Martin and Marguerite (Pulice) Masselli.
Survived by siblings James Pulice of Catskill, Cathy (Pulice) Kraft of Catskill and Joseph Pulice of Stockport; Johnny was blessed with many nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 27 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 24 N. Washington St, Athens. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated beginning at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Catskill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Athens Community Food Pantry, P.O. Box 66, Athens, NY 12015.
