It is with deep sorrow but loving remembrance that we announce the peaceful passing of Giuseppe (Joe) Salvatore Multari, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

Joe departed this earth on May 19, 2026, at St. Peter’s Hospital, enveloped in the love and care of his family. He was 90 years old.

Born on April 8, 1936, in Reggio Calabria, Italy, Joe was the beloved son of Francesco Multari and Vincenzina Pelle. His years in Italy were filled with the vibrant culture and rich traditions that he carried with him throughout his life. He embraced the values of hard work and dedication which would become the cornerstone of his character.

He emigrated to the United States in 1964, finding not only opportunity but also love of country. Together with his wife Maria they built a beautiful life, sharing 64 years of marriage together filled with love. Their journey together was blessed with the joy of raising three children: Anna, Fran and Frank. He was a devoted father, always providing guidance, support and an abundance of love.

Joe spent 30 years working at the Woodlawn Cemetery as a gardener, crew foreman, and security guard where he was known for his strong work ethic. His colleagues remembered him as a man of integrity and kindness.

In his retirement, he was an avid gardener, tending to his tomatoes and pepper plants with his wife and sister-in-law. Additionally, he loved working street festivals with his family and could always be seen with a shirt pocket full of money, serving and joking with customers.

His legacy continues through his children and his cherished granddaughter, Nicole who brought immense joy to his life. Joe found great delight in watching Nicole grow, sharing stories of his childhood, and passing down family traditions.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Maria; his daughters, Anna and husband Steve, Fran and husband Eric, son Frank, his precious granddaughter Nicole, and Christine St. Onge.

A funeral service to honor Joe’s life will be held on Wednesday May 27, 2026, between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at WC Brady’s Funeral Home located in Coxsackie. A brief prayer service will be held on Thursday May 28, 2026, at WC Brady’s at 8:30 a.m. prior to internment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bronx, New York at 1 p.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate the remarkable life of a man who touched the hearts of all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in his memory, or plant a tree, tomato, pepper or any vegetable plants.

Giuseppe Salvatore Multari will be forever remembered for his love of family, and he will be dearly missed and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in eternal peace.
