Frances M. Lackie, 94, of Acra passed away on August 25, 2026.

Frances was born on January 4, 1932, to the late Fredrick and Harriet Smith of Cementon.

She married the late Thomas Lackie, and together they raised 13 children. Frances devoted much of her life to caring for others, working as a nurses’ aide at Eden Park for more than 30 years. Her caring nature never left her, even after retiring. For the past 10 years, she made her home at Greene Meadows, where she could often be found making her rounds on the floor, just as she had done throughout her years of work.

Frances also had a love for gambling and enjoyed placing her bets at the racetrack.

Survived by her children Thomas (Eunice) Jr., Timothy (Bonnie), Joan, David (Deborah), Sharon (Bill), Michael, Steven (Marie), Stephanie, and Christopher; sister Helen (Bernie) Castle; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband; son Alan; daughter Jennie; twin daughters Margaret and Lucinda; grandsons Eric and Joshua; siblings Bubby, Chuck, Fritz, Jennie, Cookie, and Catherine; as well as son in law Henry.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at noon in Town of Catskill Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Breanna Lennon DelVecchio and Robert Gaus of Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Heights, Catskill.
