Ellen Grace “Mimi” Hartmann, age 92, of Acra, NY passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 26, 1933, to Herbert and Jeanettea Grace Dezendorf.

She is predeceased by her three brothers, Jack, Herbert and Garry Dezendorf, and her sister Roberta Jeanettea Novak.

She is survived by her three children, Linda Davis, Kevin Hartmann (Lisa Cooper), Laura Hartmann and her sister Leslie-Lynn Darling. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

She had a dance studio, and worked in restaurants throughout Acra and Cairo, the last being Bavarian Manor in Round Top.

Ellen was always active in her community as a Girl Scout leader, in community theater, and any school events in which her children were involved. Her greatest passion was the time she spent with her Resurrection Lutheran Church community, which she was a part of for more than 50 years. She was a board member of the Joyful Christian Preschool and she worked at the Food Pantry. She was particularly passionate about her work with the Grace Place where she helped care for people with Dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Ellen will be missed by many. She was always the first to offer a helping hand, a homemade meal, and genuine friendship.

Services will be held on Thursday February 19 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 186 Main Street, Cairo, NY 12413. Viewing will be 10 a.m. to noon, service to follow at noon. There will be a reception to follow.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Resurrection Lutheran Church, with the notation, “In Memory of Ellen Hartmann.”

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Richards Funeral Home in Cairo.
