Charles “Chuck” Graham, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Shaker Place Nursing Home in Albany, NY surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Brooklyn in 1943. Longtime residents of Palenville, NY, Chuck and his wife Mary raised their six children there and spent years opening their doors, and their lives, to many more. At the “Chaliday Inn,” as it became locally known, anyone in need could count on a warm meal, a bed to rest in, and a judgement-free zone.

Chuck was known for his larger-than-life personality, quick wit, and was always ready to share his “Wise Guy” humor. He was a longtime lover of the sea, beginning with his time in the Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and extending over decades fishing the waters from the Hudson River to the Jersey Shore running Angler Sportfishing Charters and chasing giant striped bass. However, in his later years there was nowhere Chuck was happier than spending time with his 12 grandchildren.

Chuck is survived by his wife Mary (nee Fulfaro); brother Daniel; children Anne Marie (Tom), Cathy (Rich), John (Karin), Brian, Lisa, and Paul; grandchildren Dylan, Vito, Isabella, Victoria, Taylor, Liam, Chloe, Marena, Jenna, Carina, Kevin, Jenna, Gabriella, and Samantha; great-grandchildren Ashton, Oliver, Maxine, Fallon, Graham, and Callum.

He is predeceased by his parents Francis and Mary and siblings Francis and Mary.

He was loved and will be deeply missed by his family as well as the entire extended Palenville family.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 20 from 5-7 p.m. at Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Heights, Catskill. A Funeral Mass will be conducted on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Palenville. Private cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Breanna Lennon DelVecchio, Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, Catskill. Messages of condolence may be made to TraverMc.com.
