



Carol Lynn Campisi, age 92 years, formerly of Acra, Cairo, Catskill and Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 12, 2026.
Carol was born in Catskill, N.Y. on January 2, 1934, and is the daughter of the late August and Florence (Loughman) Grupe.
Besides her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 65 years Joseph Campisi, who passed away on February 24, 2019, her stepbrother Stephen Loughman, her step granddaughter Katie Rodriquez, aunt Alice Savage, sister in law Lillian F. Valente, cousin Doris “Dorie” Savage, first cousin by marriage Lydia LiCausi, and her stepsister Diana Cassimore.
Survivors include her son John (Dianne) Campisi, and daughters Catherine Speirs (John) and Deborah Hellenschmidt (Joe).
She is also survived by her grandchildren Cara Lynn Budd and Jillian Koepf and John Cone (Tiffany), great grandsons Colton and Connor Koepf, great-grandchildren Kailey Cone, Brody and Kenadie Cone of Florida, step-granddaughters Erin Warrington, Kelsey Rodriquez, and Phoenix Hosier, Cara Lynn Budd (Dave) and their children Jackson and Elizabeth Budd and her stepbrothers Mark and Richard Grupe, sister-in-law Susan Loughman and her only first cousin Linda Savage. She is also survived by her niece Lillian M. Valenti, her nephew Ralph Valente, three second cousins, and many other family members.
Carol grew up in Acra, was a graduate of Cairo-Durham School, Class of 1952. While in high school, Carol was a cheerleader, she was queen of the prom. Carol had many friends during her school years. Carol attended Albany Business College (ABC). On August 18, 1952, during the same year that she graduated high school, Carol married her husband Joseph Campisi and the couple enjoyed one another for almost 65 years. She was employed and retired after working many years for the Greene County Treasurer’s Office. After her retirement, Carol and Joe retired and enjoyed The Gulf Coast of Florida.
In 2019, Carol moved back to the Greene County area to be nearer to her family.
Carol loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Carol loved the sun, all animals and wildlife, the pelicans and sea animals, she especially loved hummingbirds, which were her spirit animal. She enjoyed exercising, step class and fast walking.
As per Carol’s wishes, there will be no services.
The family would like to thank those who took care of her since her return to N.Y. in 2019 - Home Sweet Home on the Hudson in Catskill and also Meadows at Brookemeade (The Baptist Home) in Rhinebeck, N.Y.
Donations in Carol’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
