Bruce E. Neal, Sr., 68, of Cairo, NY died on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

Formerly of Lanesville, NY, he was born on March 19, 1957, to the late David and Gertrude (Benjamin) Neal.

Bruce graduated from Hunter-Tannersville school in 1975, and worked for the Town of Hunter Highway Department for many years until his retirement in 2020. He was also a member of both Lanesville (HD Lane) and Tannersville fire departments for many years.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Lenore Neal; his three children: Dawn (Steve) Ellsworth, Stacey Neal, Brucie (Isabella) Neal; step-children: Lori Decker, Jeffrey (Kathleen) Decker and Rachel Byrne; five grandchildren: Mya, Ivy, Joey Jr, Roman and Gemma; great-granddaughter Mooni; brothers David Jr, Kenneth, Gerald and Dale (Tonya) Neal; sister Nancy (Gary) Holgate; many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many dear friends.

Bruce is predeceased by his brother William (Billy) and his loving sister Elizabeth (Liz) Neal.

Bruce had so many great and funny stories of his life in Lanesville and the entire mountain top. He was a great and all around funny guy. Not a day would go by without him calling, saying, “Hey kiddo!” He will be missed.
