Amanda Lee Enck, 40, of Catskill passed away on September 29, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
The world was blessed on November 30, 1985, when Amanda was born in Catskill, NY, to Brian and Edith (Tompkins) Buel.
Amanda graduated from Windham-Ashland-Jewett High School in 2003, and went on to accomplish a bachelor’s degree from Oneonta State in 2007. Although Amanda’s interest was in early childhood education, her path led her to working in the Greene County Jail, where she met the greatest love of her life, Stephen. She continued her career with Greene County Department of Social Services and ultimately ended her career proudly at the Greene County Sheriff’s Civil Office.
For 17 years, Amanda left no stone unturned when it came to being a loving and devoted partner for Stephen. She always put Stephen’s needs and interests above her own. From attending truck shows, to watching shows on truck repairs, painting or drag racing, she was just happy to be close to Stephen.
Amanda’s love for children came full circle when she was blessed with two daughters, Zoey (8) and Cora (2). Zoey will always cherish their shopping trips to Target, and getting their nails done together. Cora will undoubtedly learn how selfless and patient her mother was through the stories she will hear from anyone who was lucky enough to know Amanda.
Amanda will be remembered for her absolute kindness towards others, her unconditional love for her husband and family, her dedication to her cherished pets, and her unwavering loyalty to her friends. Even in the darkest times of her battle, Amanda’s light had never stopped shining. She had spent her final days at home, and passed on peacefully surrounded by family, which wouldn’t have been possible without the love and care from Helen Hogan.
Alongside her beloved husband Stephen Enck, and daughters Zoey and Cora; Amanda is also survived by her parents Brian and Edith Buel; her brother Travis Buel and nephew Aiden; in-laws Robert Enck, and Peter and Judith Kusminsky; sister-in-law Debbie (Christopher) Stanzione; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 6 from 4-7 p.m. at Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Heights, Catskill.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 7, beginning at 12 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m., with interment to follow at Town of Catskill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Amanda’s honor may be made to Greene County Women’s League Cancer Patient Aid, P.O. Box 341, Round Top, NY, 12473 or The Community Hospice of Columbia & Greene Counties, 47 Liberty St, Catskill, NY, 12414.
