CATSKILL―Country music is coming back to Greene County with another live concert at the Historic Catskill Point, this time featuring Parmalee and special guest Kelsey Hart on Saturday, May 30.
“This year, the line up of Parmalee and Kelsey Hart should continue the history of great country recording artists performing in Greene County,” said Jim Miller, concert director and Round Top native.
“Since bringing Nashville artists back to Greene County in 2023, the concert at the Historic Catskill Point has continued to gain momentum and is an event that concert attendees look forward to every year in their own backyard,” Miller said.
Tickets are still available for purchase online up until Saturday afternoon and also at the gate.
Details for those attending:
- Doors open at 6 p.m. with the opening act going on stage at 7:15 p.m.
- There is free parking at Dutchman's Landing (there will be a VMS board at the entrance). Premier parking is available directly across from the venue for $20 per car.
- There is only one way into the venue. Attendees should have their QR code on their phone out for the front gate attendants to scan so they can get everyone inside quickly. Immediately inside, there is a table with wristbands for those over the age of 21.
- There are two food vendors on site and two bars: one in the general admission area with beer, wine and ready-to-drink beverages and one full-service bar in the VIP area. All transactions are cash only. There will be two ATM machines inside the entrance.
- No lawn chairs are allowed in the VIP area, but those with VIP tickets can bring a lawn chair and put it in the general admission area to come and go as they please.
- Prohibited items include umbrellas, dogs, coolers, food and/or any type of beverage, backpacks and any type of weapons, including pocketknives.
“The forecast doesn't look bad for Saturday. Only a slight chance of rain in the morning and clearing out in the afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 60's, so as the night goes on make sure you are prepared for cooler temps,” said Miller.
Known for their hook-heavy sound that doesn’t just dominate the genre, Parmalee crushes charts, radio, and playlists, solidifying their legacy as a staple in today’s country music.
Comprised of brothers Matt and Scott Thomas (lead vocals/guitar and drums, respectively), cousin Barry Knox (bass), and lifelong friend Josh McSwain, the North Carolina-bred band most recently topped the charts with their longest-running number one single, “Cowgirl.”
This single would become the longest-running number one by a band in nearly 14 years on the Billboard Country Airplay charts. It marked Parmalee’s fifth consecutive number one following the massive success of number one fan favorites “Take My Name” (Billboard’s most-played country song of 2022), “Girl In Mine” (Billboard’s 8th most-played country song of 2023), “Just the Way” with Blanco Brown, and the emotional ballad “Gonna Love You” that revisited the near-death experience the band endured earlier in their career.
With more than 1.6 billion streams, six number one country hits, and a growing list of platinum singles, Parmalee has cemented their place as a hit-making powerhouse.
A Curb Records recording artist, songwriter, and Kentucky native, Hart has found his way into the artist spotlight, a place he’s dreamed of being since his childhood days of belting gospel music from the passenger seat in his dad’s truck.
With 221 million global career streams, Hart is making an impact starting with his RIAA Gold, Top 25 debut radio single “Life With You” has garnered over 130 million global streams, 650 million TikTok views, 1.1M TikTok Creates, debuted in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Country Digital Songs Chart, and reached #1 on the Hot 30 Weekend Countdown on SiriusXM The Highway.
“We are thrilled to welcome back live country music to Greene County for another great country concert and be able to showcase the Historic Catskill Point,” said Patty Austin, director of Greene County Tourism.
“The past three years were a great success and the residents of Greene and Columbia Counties and the Hudson Valley continue to come out to support the concert, and listen to great music at a beautiful venue with views of the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountain range,” Austin added.
