Two Greenville men facing felony drug charges

CAIRO―Two Greenville men are behind bars after a traffic stop led to the alleged discovery of drugs, including cocaine and crystal meth.

It was around 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, May 10 that State Police pulled over a 2009 Toyota on County Route 23B in Cairo. The driver was identified as Coty M. O’Keefe, 39, and the passenger as Garret F. Auer, 49, both of Greenville.

During the investigation, troopers conducted a search of the vehicle and allegedly recovered:

- A plastic bag containing approximately .45 grams of a blue pills identified as Amphetamine;

- A foil package containing approximately .88 grams of buprenorphine;

- Approximately .88 grams of crystal methamphetamine in a paper bag; and

- Clear plastic bag containing approximately 21.15 grams of cocaine.

A search of O’Keefe revealed approximately .73 grams of crack cocaine in a clear plastic bag and a search of Auer’s personal property turned up approximately .8 grams of buprenorphine, State Police reported.

Auer was charged with charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance: narcotic, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: narcotic drug/intent to sell and first-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, all felonies; and manufacturing drug-related paraphernalia and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all misdemeanors.

O’Keefe was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: cocaine, criminal possession of a controlled substance: narcotic, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: narcotic drug/intent to sell, and tampering with physical evidence, all felonies; and manufacturing drug-related paraphernalia, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and four counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all misdemeanors.

Both Auer and O’Keefe were arraigned in Cairo Town Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail without bail.
