LLOYD―Two Greene County women are facing felony drug charges following a traffic stop in the town of Lloyd.
Wiley W. Faison, 57, of Catskill and Siarra R. Bergami, 32, of Athens are each charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and criminal possession of a controlled substance: narcotic, both class B felonies.
Around 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, the State Police Troop F Community Stabilization Unit observed a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 traveling northbound on State Route 9W, near the northbound on-ramp of the Mid-Hudson Bridge. The driver of the truck was allegedly operating in violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law and troopers initiated a traffic stop.
During the investigation, K9 Kell conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle and positively alerted to the presence of narcotics, State Police reported. A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly resulted in the seizure of approximately 103 grams of cocaine.
Faison and Bergami were arrested on drug possession charges and Faison, the driver, was also issued tickets for multiple alleged vehicle and traffic violations. Both were arraigned and initially remanded to the Ulster County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing, troopers said.
