BROOME―A Middleburgh man was killed Tuesday morning when police say his motorcycle collided with a deer.
It happened around 7:25 a.m. on State Route 145 in the town of Broome.
Brian W. Cross, 57, was traveling south when a deer entered the roadway, the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office reported. The collision caused Cross to be thrown from the motorcycle, deputies said.
Cross sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both lanes of State Route 145 were closed in the area until approximately 10 a.m. The investigation remains ongoing, the sheriff’s office says.
