CAIRO―Gretchen Mills Maresco, an experienced lineage researcher, is coming to Cairo to share her research tips on finding your Patriot ancestor.

The Cairo Historical Society is hosting this free lecture on June 13 at the Cairo Public Library, 15 Railroad Avenue, from 1-3 p.m.

For many years, Maresco was the registrar for the Hendrick Hudson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Hudson. She will be sharing with the audience some of her interesting experiences helping women find their Patriot ancestors and discover their ancestor’s role in the events that formed this nation.

Maresco has been a volunteer researcher and a member of the DAR for twenty years. She has proven 22 of her ancestors who served as Patriots in various roles during the American Revolution.

This free lecture is hosted by the Cairo Historical Society, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, as part of their efforts to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of the United States of America. All are welcome to attend and ask questions about the process of researching their Patriot ancestors and joining the DAR.
