HUNTER―Academy of Fortepiano Performance faculty members, Audrey Axinn, Maria Rose, Masayuki Maki, Andrew Willis and guest artist, violinist Cynthia Roberts, will perform Keyboard Music From the Ages For the Ages: Timeless Music For Harpsichord and Piano, including harpsichord music as well as piano music in the acoustically wonderful Evelyn Weisberg Hall at the Doctorow Center for the Arts on Saturday, May 30.

This concert will include Jacques Duphly’s Second livre de pieces de clavecin (1748) and Troisieme livre de pieces de clavecin (1756) performed on harpsichord by Masayuki Maki. Beethoven’s Sonata in F minor, op. 2 no. 1 will be played by Andrew Willis on fortepiano. Johannes Brahms’ Sonata for violin and piano, op. 78 wil be performed by violinist Cynthia Roberts and fortepianist Audrey Axinn.

The Academy of Fortepiano Performance, led by these renowned performers and specialists, gives students the opportunity to participate in lessons, master classes, and workshops supported by plentiful access to pianos from the 18th and 19th century or their modern replicas. Based at the Piano Performance Museum in Hunter, the Academy has returned year after year, offering performance opportunities on historical instruments that are not normally available to their students. The residency is from May 30 through June 7.

Keyboard Music From the Ages For the Ages will be performed at the Doctorow Center for the Arts, 7971 Main Street, Hunter on Saturday, May 30 at 7 p.m. For tickets, visit www.catskillmtn.org.
