RENSSELAERVILLE―Move to the beat as the highly acclaimed world music group Novalima, known for their Latin Grammy-nominated Afro-Peruvian electronic fusion, performs a rare concert at Hilltown Commons, a nonprofit retreat and arts campus for the curious in Rensselaerville on Saturday, May 9.

Born in Lima and now revered worldwide, Novalima blends centuries-old Afro-Peruvian rhythms with electronic production, dub, and global influences into a sound that is utterly their own.

Their music bridges communities and generations, rooted in the African diaspora that has shaped Peru’s culture since the 1500s, and pushed forward by four friends who grew up in Lima's underground punk and acid-rock scenes before finding their signature genre.

This is a rare chance to catch the celebrated group in an intimate setting. Novalima’s accolades include Latin Grammy nominations, and performances at prestigious events like WOMAD, the Montreal Jazz Festival, and NYC Central Park.

Attendees are invited to dust off their dancing shoes and dig out their best spring outfit for an exciting night of music.

The Pub opens at 6 p.m. It features a seasonal, flavorful menu and refreshing drinks including a full bar. Show doors open at 8 p.m., with the show beginning at 9 p.m.

Tickets are $25 in advance or $35 at the door. All ages are welcome.
