COXSACKIE―The Greene County Historical Society is pleased to announce this year’s Olga Santora Women’s History Lecture. On Sunday March 8, local author J (Johannes) Froebel-Parker will present background on his book, Grand Duchess Anastasia: Still A Mystery?
The author commissioned a life size oil portrait of Anastasia by Catskill artist Barbara Korr Green which will be on display during the presentation.
The Greene County Historical Society established the Women’s History Lectures to honor the late Dr. Olga Santora, past president of the society. Santora was a tireless educator, principal of Coxsackie Elementary School, professor at SUNY New Platz and a Greene County literacy volunteer. Above all she was ahead of her time in promoting and supporting the interests and aspirations of women in all walks of life.
The program will begin at 2 p.m. and be held in the reading room of the Greene County Historical Society’s Vedder Research Library located on the grounds of the Bronck Museum. The Bronck Museum is located at 90 County Route 42, Coxsackie.
