Police: Fight at McDonald’s involved bat, pipe and hammer

CAIRO―Three local men are facing felony charges after a fight broke out in the parking lot of the McDonald’s in Cairo.

State Police say they were called to the Route 32 restaurant around 4:59 p.m. on Tuesday for a report of a fight in progress.

Investigation revealed that three men―identified as Michael W. Martin, 31, of Durham; Joseph Holloway, 34, of Cairo; and Cody Holloway, 29, of Cairo―approached a 43-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman in the parking lot, troopers said.

A physical altercation ensued during which various weapons, including a bat, metal pipe, and hammer, were displayed and/or used to strike the victims, according to State Police.

Martin is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of second-degree menacing, all misdemeanors. He was arraigned in Cairo Town Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond or $100,000 partially secured bond.

Joseph Holloway is charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies; and second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both misdemeanors. He was arraigned in Cairo Town Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond or $100,000 partially secured bond.

Cody Holloway is charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies; and second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both misdemeanors. He was arraigned in Cairo Town Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash, $150,000 bond or $200,000 partially secured bond.

The two victims were evaluated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries and refused further medical treatment.
