CATSKILL―All the world’s a stage and Greene County is no exception with movies like War of the Worlds and The Cake Eaters featuring scenes shot locally.
Now, yet another film crew has descended on the area, this time shooting a Christmas movie dubbed Clashing Through the Snow.
Greene County Director of Tourism Patty Austin confirmed that filming took place in Catskill this past week at the Rip Van Winkle Brewery and Red Ranch Inn. Crews are expected to be on Main Street in Cairo on February 24, she said.
Clashing Productions, Inc. is the company behind the comedy that has been reported by Letterboxd.com to be an Amazon MGM Studios production.
Last week, filming for Clashing Through the Snow was underway at the Poughkeepsie Galleria where the mall’s center court was adorned with Christmas decorations and transformed into a North Pole wonderland.
And while little has been publicly reported about the movie, Letterboxd.com describes it as “a Planes, Trains and Automobiles for today’s generation.”
“After weather grounds all flights east for the holidays, two work rivals competing for the same job begrudgingly embark on a cross-country road trip that brings them closer together in ways they never imagined,” Letterboxd.com states.
Directed by Carlson Young, Clashing Through the Snow stars lead actress Michelle Randolph, perhaps best known recently for her supporting role opposite Billy Bob Thornton in the Paramount+ series Landman.
Other actors include Lukas Gage, known for his roles in Euphoria, The White Lotus, You, Fargo, and American Vandal, and Christopher Briney from the Amazon Prime series The Summer I Turned Pretty.
