Catskill man, recently paroled, arrested on drug charges

CATSKILL―A Catskill man, recently paroled from state prison, is again behind bars after a search of his residence turned up drugs.

On Thursday, September 24, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office received a request for assistance from New York State Parole. The agency was conducting a home visit at one of their parolees’ residences located on State Route 23 in Catskill.

Following Parole’s home visit and their search of the residence, the sheriff’s office arrested 50-year-old Anthony Beau.

Beau was found to be in possession of approximately 115 grams of cocaine and $3,452 in cash, the sheriff’s office reported.

Beau is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both class B felonies.

Beau was arraigned in the Town of Catskill Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail without bail.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Greene County District Attorney’s Office and New York State Parole.

Beau was previously sentenced to up to eight years and ten months in state prison after being convicted in 2018 in Greene County Court for third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. He was paroled on July 2.
