COXSACKIE―The Coxsackie-Athens Board of Education is beginning its search for a new superintendent of schools in preparation for the retirement of Randall Squier.

Currently in his 15th year of leading the district, Squier announced back in November that he will retire effective February 9, 2026.

Currently, the board of education has put out a community survey for residents to share what qualities they want to see in the new district leader.

“This decision comes after much reflection and with deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve our students, staff, and community since August 2011,” said Squier.

“I am proud to have led C-A toward a culture of innovation, student-centered learning, and community engagement,” he added.

Surveys will be accepted through January 16 and can be found at https://forms.gle/U7m193Wg8JLqHZ6h8.
