Bronck Museum’s Heritage Craft Fair is this Sunday

COXSACKIE―On Sunday, October 4 celebrate the fall season in the Hudson Valley at the Bronck Museum’s Heritage Craft Fair from 12-4 p.m.

On porches, nestled beside the barns, spread across the lawns and in the historic homes, crafters will be offering for sale all manner of traditional handmade goods including a variety of hand knitted, hand sewn, and quilted goods, hand spun knitting wool, spicy candles, handmade teddy bears, pottery and much more. Buy local maple syrup, honey products, and homemade jams. Purchase wonderful things for your home or unique Christmas presents.

Stop under the oak trees on the south lawn to chat with Pieter Bronck himself and try the potent drink he concocted over three hundred years ago. Stroll along the old King’s Road to visit the farm’s unusual thirteen-sided hay barn and exhibits in the Bronck Barracks. Then rest awhile, grab a bite to eat at Scarpa’s food truck and enjoy American bluegrass and country music performed by Running the River.

Visit the Meadow Ridge Heritage barn on the property where horse-drawn wagon rides by Larch Hill Farm will depart and local musician Luke Barnhart will perform. Inside the barn there will be several kids’ activities including face painting, candy raffle, pumpkin painting and other kid’s crafts.

At 3 p.m., join local historian Ted Hilscher and the Board of the Greene County Historical Society for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the official kickoff of the Meadow Ridge Heritage Barn project funded by a matching grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).

The Society looks forward to sharing this exciting next chapter in the story of the Meadow Ridge Heritage Barn and bringing this historic building to life as a vibrant new space for programs, performances, special events, and community gatherings for years to come.

Make the short trip to the Bronck Museum Heritage Craft Fair and celebrate for one early autumn afternoon the rural heritage of America. Admission to this event is free, and it takes place in fair or foul weather. The Bronck Museum is located at 90 County Route 42, Coxsackie.
