Frank C. Dobert, 78, of Earlton, New York, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, at Health Alliance Hospital.
He was a twin, born in Catskill, NY, on June 6, 1947, the son of the late Ruth M. and Charles H. Dobert.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51½ years, Gina, whom he adored; his children, who were the light of his life, Charlie Dobert, Rachel and her husband John VanDenburgh; and his beloved granddaughter Reagan. He is also survived by his twin sister, Carol whom he loved dearly and brother-in-law Gary Warner, his brother- and sister-in-law, Andrew and Barbara Juliano and sister-in-law Tina Juliano; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Every single thing he did in this life was for his family.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Lorraine “Pinky” Selzner and his brother-in-law, Raymond Juliano Sr., who was his partner in crime.
Frank, known lovingly as Pop, Frankie, Big Jimmy, Zeke, Sam, Frank the Tank, Marathon Man, Big Frank, The Mayor of Earlton and Dabbit, was a gentle giant and a man full of life.
After graduating from Cairo Central School, he served in the Army National Guard for six years. Upon discharge, he worked construction in Albany and helped build the Dunn Memorial Bridge and “The Mall” (Empire State Plaza).
In 1976, he found his true passion in logging. He began in the woods with just a chainsaw and then bought a log truck. With that start, and a work ethic like no other, he built and sustained multiple businesses and sawmills over the span of 40 years, developing strong relationships and lifelong friends along the way.
Frank loved the outdoors. He was a hunter who was happy anytime he was in the woods. Taking golfcart rides and searching for pixies in the forest with Reagan was one of his favorite things to do. He looked forward every year to opening day and to welcoming family and friends to his hunting dinner in November at the cabin.
He loved to throw parties, and his 4th of July celebrations and firework shows were second to none. The ultimate party came in June of 2024 where with friends and family by their side Frank and Gina renewed their vows and celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage.
Frank had a lifelong love for cars and through the years quite the collection, each one with its own story to tell. Drag racing, whether it be on Route 81 or an actual track was one of his most favorite past times. He also enjoyed traveling with his family to Disney World, Bermuda and on Cruises, even bringing Rachel and Charlie along on their 25th wedding anniversary trip to Germany. Anywhere they were all together was where he wanted to be.
Frank had a knack for telling the best stories and a special gift for making everyone laugh. He had an amazingly generous heart and will be missed beyond measure.
