Johnny H. Kuever age 80, of Round Top passed away peacefully at his home on February 4, 2026. He was born on February 2, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York and was the son of the late Johnny and Margaret Kuever.

John joined the US Navy in 1965 only to return home in 1967 due to the passing of his father.

Later that year, Johnny and Linda married and settled in Round Top where they raised two boys John and Eric.

John and his sister Claire continued to run Hans and Gretel's for 40 years in East Durham.

Later on, John decided to try driving bus. He drove for Trailways, Greene County Transit and finally retired driving buses for the Cairo-Durham Central School District.

John loved collecting Lionel trains, relaxing in his pool, and took great pride in his gardens and home. He was a life member of the East Durham fire company and helped Kickstart their yearly fundraising breakfasts. John always had a smile and loved the company of family and friends whenever they were near.

Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by his sister Claire, his son John, and wife Linda on January 29, 2026.

Survivors include his son Eric and wife Christina, two nephews Carl and Robert Warrings.

A celebration of life will be held graveside on May 2 at 11 a.m. at the Round Top Cemetery.
