CATSKILL―Bridge Street Theatre is proud to announce the launch of Bridge Street Academy, a new community-based arts education program designed to serve students of all ages through engaging, hands-on creative learning.
The academy debuts this winter with two new multi-week classes for teens and adults, focused on acting, improvisation, and collaborative performance.
Bridge Street Academy is built around the belief that the performing arts do more than train actors—they foster confidence, curiosity, empathy, and creative problem-solving. While its initial offerings focus on theatre and performance, the academy is designed to grow into a broader hub for artistic education in the Catskills, welcoming teaching artists across disciplines.
The academy’s inaugural session launches Saturday, January 31, with two new courses taught by Timothy Dunn, associate artistic director of Bridge Street Theatre and a longtime New York City actor, director, and company member at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
“Bridge Street Academy is about more than just learning lines or being funny on stage,” said Dunn.
“It’s about giving people a space to explore their creativity, take risks, and connect with others in a meaningful way,” Dunn added. “Whether you’re 14 or 64, play is an enormously powerful tool for growth! So, do it! Be brave!”
